Finding my own style now I am a mum has been really tough. After having Little Viking, I didn’t really take much time to think about my own style, nor get back into shape as I figured I would have to put it all back on when I chose to have another. Now that Mini Viking is born and we have decided she will be our last, I have realised I need to try re-discover my own style. BUT this is a lot easier said than done when you have a toddler and young baby.
When I visited The Baby Show at Olympia in October I met the wonderful Emily from Nibbling Jewellery. Emily, a mum of three under 5, entrepreneur and fashion designer, really does have her hands full! I first discovered Nibbling back in July at a Christmas in July event. At the time I was pregnant, but made a mental note that when baby came along I would be needing some baby friendly accessories!
I really love simple statement pieces. So the Stardom Teething Necklace with its beautiful monochrome style really caught my eye. Keeping with the monochrome theme I also picked the Pearls and Star Dummy clip to keep Mini Vikings Dummy safe. This is useful as Mini Viking doesn’t really take a dummy she just likes to play with it, so I feel like I have to have it on me, but often its just attached to the bag or her outfit. Finally I chose a teether for Mini Viking. I love bright and fun shapes which made the Turquoise Elephant the obvious choice!
Mini Viking has had a great time testing them out, especially now she is beginning to dribble and teethe. Her little hands have just started to open and grasp for things so she loves to try reach for the star necklace. Dave the Elephant (as named by Little Viking!) comes everywhere with us to either give to Mini Viking to chew, or swing in a hypnotic way in front of her when she is grumpy (the things we do for peace!).
Emily really has married the necessary with the beautiful to create what I believe to be a Mummy Viking essential! I don’t leave the house now without them, and I never worry about them getting dirty as they wash brilliantly and can even go in the dishwasher (not that I have one!).
